DocN
What a joke! They been here they went away they came back as an exclusive beer and nobody bought it. Now what? They coming back again. I seriously doubt they will be able to take any shares here even if they are huge elsewhere. Nowdays we enjoy the good and cheap Chang or Leo. Girls of today dont know anything exept for heiniken. There are no market segment for Carsberg. One time big in Thailand as kloster was long time ago. Nope sorry waste of money but ok they can afford. Cheers I am drinking it!

wump
The quality control is an issue we all hope they attend to stricktly. Just buy an imported American Coca-cola vs the one you get i Thailand. Miles apart. ( Heard a story once, dunno if it's true, but a good story anyhow; the reason why there is no coke can vendor machines in Thailand, should be the punishment handed out to Coca-cola Thailand by Coca-cola, because they fail in getting the taste right. ) The current Vietnam brewed Carlsberg is not pretty bad - but its still stretching it, to call it a Carlsberg.. But Thai's and quality control, is a bit bard to fit into once sentence, without chuckling. Anyway we will all have to wait and see. Untrue. There is coke vending machines at a couple of places, especially in Bangkok. Price is usually 14 or 15 Baht, and you can only use coins.

asiawatcher
Singha already brews Lao, Federbrau and Leo. Now they are going to get their hands on Carlsberg. Let's hope they will avoid the chemicals that supply Singha drinkers the hangover.
Qauvorka
Its all lGER THOUGH. just adding more of the same does not make things better, some other alternatives might go down well here if there is anyone brave enough to have a go! Let's hope they will avoid the chemicals that supply Singha drinkers the hangover. Just to get it right: Singha Corporation brews: Singha, Leo and Asahi. Federbrau is brewed by ThaiBev (Chang). Beerlao is brewed by LBC (Lao Brewery Co., Ltd.) which is a joint venture between Carlsberg Group (51%) and the Laotian government (49%). Singha Corporation will, at the moment, NOT brew Carlsberg. The Carlsberg available in Thailand is brewed in Vietnam and imported to Thailand. Singha will only handle sales, distribution and marketing here in Thailand. ManInSurat
ManInSurat doesn't often make comments on beer-related threads. Not sure about Carlsberg... - tried Special Brew when I was a student and never drank Carlsberg again... As for Coca-Cola - the US one doesn't taste the same as anywhere else because they use High Fructose Corn Syrup instead of sugar.
FrankRizzo
Great news !! I've always preferred Carlsberg over Heineken. BTW, I found the Vietnamese brewed Carlsberg to be quite good - much better than the Australian brew.
catmac
Never really like to resurect a dormant thread, but it looks as if Carlsberg are really serious about SE Asia.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21291614. Of interest is that the Myanmar venture will be 51% owned, so no chance of a Chang-style hijack!
Seismic
I have always found that heineken is an easy drink worldwide, it is generally always the same, Carlsburg to me is a slightly better beer, but they really need to sort out the quality.
