I have had fiber TOT for almost two years, currently with 20mb down and 3mb up. I started with 8mb down and 1mb up. It is reliable but has it's own problems. It's not as quick with DNS queries as I would expect it to be and pings times a slower than my old ADSL.

I do not pay my internet bill, just a perk my work gave me when ADSL just wasn't reliable enough. The ping times are with TOT DNS servers, TOT gateways and other local Thai servers like TV's speedtest.

Here in Phuket we have quite a few customers on fiber. Most of them started with TOT fiber and it underperformed badly. Then they switched to CAT fiber and since then everything works perfect. Support by CAT Telecom Phuket office is outstanding.

So it would seem all Internet services are crap here(to put it mildly)

ADSL,WiFi (with the big pole) and the above reports on Fiber do not

sound like the ideal solution.

Can anyone recommend a good reliable supplier ,that can give decent

speeds, that last longer than the first week after installation,I stream to

my tv,day time it works most of the time without buffering, but when it

gets to 5 -6 oclock ,the download speeds drop to BYTES !!!,back to

dial up.

update:

have had 24/2 CAT fiber for about a week now. no complaints. intl speed is a solid 4+mb throughout the day. pings are <20 within thailand, and <250 to the states.
