I already posted on this group, my post is now a bit different, as I am wondering why is everybody very spectical about finding a job in Samui as a foreigner.

Ok living on an island is a dream for many, it s already been more than a dream for me, since it happened, I worked on a vietnamiese island, and I just found the job walking around and networking....But in Thailand, where there are thousands more hotels, and where the service is also not the best...nobody seems ready to hire a westerner, except for a general managern with 20 years experience and degree in hotel management etc... or a chief job.

Once again, I didnt come here to get rich and I am not asking for 100 000 baths a month (eventough I d love too;) ), I am very motivated, travelled a lot, already worked in Asia, ad know customers expectations since I am also very picky when I do travel.

So what's the problem in Thailand, nobody needs a western guest relation manager, front office or general manager ....Thai people are very friendly for sure, and some can speak pretty good english but I thought hiring a westerner would give an added value as it is often the case for a 3/4 or 5 stars hotel.

So I don t want to believe the pessimistics and I want to think my motivation will pay off...but advises, tips, experiences would be more than welcomed.

Count down...I have 1 month to find before my visa expires!!

Wish me luck!!!
