October 3, 201213 yr I am staying in Chiang Mai and yesterday I lost my USA passport, which I had just renewed for 10 years before I left the USA a few weeks ago. I had a 90 day non-immigrant O visa from Thailand which doesnt expire for another 10 weeks so Im ok on that respect, but my departure card was also in there. My plan today is to go to the US embassy in Chiang Mai and make an appointment to get my passport reissued. After I have a new passport in hand I will go to Thai immigration and get my non-o reissued. To replace the departure card, I have read a thread here and opinions differ as to whether to replace it now or wait until I am ready to go home and get a new one then. I would rather take care of it now and not wait until Im heading home because I dont want to get delayed at the airport for any reason. Does this sound like a good plan? Does anyone have an idea of how much Thailand will charge me to reissue the original single entry non-o Visa that I had? And how about the charge for the departure card? Thanks.
October 3, 201213 yr Task A is to get a police report of the loss, you'll need this to get a new passport issued. Once you have your new PP you can go to immigration and they will use their computer system along with your old PP number, name etc. to find your entry and place the necessary stamps in your new PP, they will also give you a new TM6 arrival/departure card. Since the non-o was a single entry you need to do no more. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
October 3, 201213 yr Sounds good, i think you have to go to the poice, and make a police report, saying it's been lost or stolen before you go to your embassy. Did you make a copy of your passport and visa . Good luck to you
October 3, 201213 yr You have to have a police report. You cannot get a visa from Thailand, you mean you had an extension from the Immigration office. If you go to Immigration they will give you a new departure card, and stamp it accordingly. Edited October 3, 201213 yr by beano2274
October 3, 201213 yr Actually he had a 90 day visa entry and that information will be entered into his new passport when he visits immigration. And yes police report is first step.
October 3, 201213 yr I had a similar situation last year, passport stolen. I got the police report and applied for a new passport. When I received it I went to my local immigration office (Jomtien) but they had no record of me on their computer system and told me to go back to my entry point (BKK airport). This I did at the end of my 90 days, presented my new passport, police report, and copy of old passport to the immigration officer, and also told him exactly which date/flight I had entered. It took him about an hour on his computer but eventually he produced a new departure card, no charge, and I departed without any problem of cost.
October 3, 201213 yr The must have been an error if unable to find in Jomtien and took and hour at airport. The information should be immediately available at any immigration check point. That is why should be done prior to departure - an hour could have resulted in a missed flight for many.

You're right, I turned up 3 hours early and went TG business class just to be sure of having the time for this.
October 3, 201213 yr Author Thank you all for the help. Luckily, I found my passport this morning. I had given it to my property manager at my condo office when I signed my lease, and she forgot to give it back to me. She was on holiday the last few days, so this morning we went to her office, looked in the copy machine, and voila, there was my passport! She had not used the copy machine in the past few days, and that's why it was still in her machine. Just by simply retracing my steps in the past few days seemed to help in finding it. And thanks to my girlfriend who suggested it was probably in the copy machine! Thanks again for all the help.
