Can I Do Re-Entry Instead Of 90 Day Report On 1 Year Extn?

Featured Replies

I am due to do a 90 day report on the 18th Oct, I can go 7 days pre/post to the 18th to attend the office.

I am on a 1 year extn to a Non-O, based on marriage (4 years of renewal now) that expires on the 28 Dec but because of a domestic dispute I am now living 700 Kms from my Thai Imm office in Amnat Chareon.

So now not living at the address on my previous 90 day reports, which I am aware is breaking the 90 day rules, as the 90 day report is to confirm I am still living at the same address. As far as I know.

Can I do a same day border run (on a re-entry permit through Aranya) to cover the period until my extn expires on the 28th Dec, instead of driving 1400 Kms?

I intend to apply for a Ed/Ret' visa prior to the 28th Dec to continue statying here.

Many thanks for any advice.

No problem if you exit PRIOR to the report date of your next 90-day report. When you re-enter, on whatever day that is, your 90-day clock is reset for reporting.

Yes an exit and return would cover the 90 day report requirement.

Re- entry permit ? got one ?

His visa extention is based on marriage. It appears that this marriage is now finished. Does this mean that his extension based on marriage is now nulified?

Not if he get back together - people do travel and work apart at times.

Thank you for your replies.

I have a re-entry form downloaded on my computer so I can fill it in and take with me to Aranya.

I am still legally married as there is no mention of any divorce at this stage, so just living apart.

"downloaded on my computer"??? I've never heard of this one.

Hmmm, really should be IN your passport, stamped there by your local Thai Immigration office.

Clarification, please?

Mac

A re-entry application I believe is what he means - to obtain the re-entry stamp which will be placed in his passport.

Never heard that they issue re-entry permits there.

Re-entry can omly be issued at the airport or your local immigration office prior to leaving Thailand

Not sure if this is the right place for my enquiry but here goes.

I have a 12month extension (the 6th) to my Non-O Visa (Retirement) which is renewed at the beginning of May.

Next year, a few weeks after I do my next 12month renewal I am planning to return to the UK for 6 to 7 months.

What happens to the 90 day reporting requirement if I am out of the country for that length of time?

Also, will my re-entry permit be valid for 6 to 7 months?

There is no need to do a 90 day report if you aren't in the country. The report is due on the 90th day after you re-enter.

A re-entry permit is valid for the life of the visa extension and expires when the extension expires.

Just remember that a new extension means you also have to obtain a new re-entry permit after the extension stamp is in your passport so get both when you extend next time.

Thanks guys, very helpful.
