Among the Army's weapons confiscated by red-shirt protesters in April 2010, only one M-16 rifle has been returned to the military

Lies!!!!! but what do we expect? for people to fall hook line and sinker for it to suit their own agenda....

coffee1.gif Is it stealing when the army abandon the weapons?

Would that be abandon as in "gay abandon" or "abandon ship"? As the word's meaning includes a deliberate intention, IMHO it is a deliberate distortion of events.

Are you aware that simple possession of military weapons is a criminal offense for non-authorised persons?

A bit like calling payments to violent extortionists "donations" perhaps.

BTW while the reference to M-79 and RPG attacks are a little off-topic, they do show willingness of the red/black contingent to use military weapons against civilian targets.

I await your proof of the invalidity of the statement. Are you sure that weapons that MAY have returned to the police are yet to find their way to the proper owners? Could they not have been misappropriated, or held as evidence?

In this thread, is there ever a hint of criticism of the Red Shirts from certain poster? I can't find it.

Seems to be black and white for them. Army/Abhisit bad, Red Shirts/Thaksin good.

End of topic

Correct. That is all the information their red peanut brain can process.

Well being in the Thai army when you get involved in shooting your own people is hardly destined to make you popular.

The reds pushed, abhisit had no choice, some people shot at the army, the army shot back, thaksin got his blood bath.

It's not as though it is a popularity contest. The army did more or less what they had to do, but it doesn't make then the good guys.

Did the police do a good job?

don't worry, with the people that are getting banned and the others who just seemingly can't be bothered interacting with ye guys anymore, the forum will soon be the circlejerk that ye all dream of.

laters.

How did Army troops allow their weapons to be taken? ....or were they taken from dead troops? One of the first things a soldier learns is to not let go of his weapon to anyone not on his side.

Because the weapons weren't taken back at the moment they were displayed, they will never be retrieved.

PT party will stand shoulder to shoulder to do the following two things: First, to confuse the issue and hope it blows away. Second, to continue to lie in their defense, because (in their view) everything the Reds did was Ok and justified - even the torching of large downtown buildings.

'You guys'?

Is that one person who has views which consider the actions and priorities of the ruling party, to be at the expense of what is good for Thailand?

If so, guilty as charged.

No comment on 'people getting banned' as that would be against a forum rule, which BTW is also the reason those got banned.

As for "others who just seemingly can't be bothered interacting with ye guys anymore", may I ask you to name a few ? With recent additions of a big banana, a triplet and a few others I'm wondering if this statement is correct?

BTW 'laters' suggest that at least you are not discouraged by the constructive criticism freely offered by a few members here smile.png
