I'm studying in BKK, and my girlfriend (not Thai national) has been staying with me on 30 day stamps and monthly visa runs. I have multiple entry non-ED myself. No problems with the visa runs as we like to travel - but my gf is pregnant and we would obviously like to obtain a longer visa.

Is non-O totally ruled out in this case as we aren't married yet ? I believe the consulate in my home country would most likely issue one, but MNL embassy flatly refused. No plans to travel back home anytime soon, any idea if a consulate/embassy in a neighbouring country would work?

Second option is obviously a tourist visa, MNL also refused on the spot to issue anything but single entry. I don't understand why. :o But from what I've read, this could be worked out in Penang most likely.

Thanks in advance.

No you do not get the married visa status unless you are married. A multi tourist may be available at Penang if she is not too far along (they will not allow those who appear to be ready to give birth to enter due to citizenship laws). Manila is very tight with visas of any kind but the direct reason probably is they guessed (correctly?) that this was an attempt to stay in Thailand long term rather than the normal tourist travel.

Did you mean Malaysia or Thailand not allowing to enter? Thanks.

It was my uneducated guess before consulting this website that multiple Non-O is given to just about anybody like the consulate does in my home country. Also it doesn't make sense to me that Filipinas get the usual 30 days renewed with a visa runs but not a longer term visa... The guy at the MNL RTE was such an arrogant chap at least I know I won't ever renew my visa there. :o

Malaysia has a born citizenship law so they try to prevent those they believe are trying to obtain citizenship by birth from entering.

Thanks lopburi3, so it looks like our choices are getting married+visa, or tourist visa in PEN. My girlfriend is 19 weeks now so PEN is a choice I guess. If married - non-O should be issued anywhere, right? We fly CX/AY to SIN in Business monthly, so that's what it would be I guess.

Thanks for your info.
