There's more rain to come for sure but seems quite refreshing all of a sudden. No Ping River tsunamis or overflowing canals courtesy of trigger-happy sluice gate operators this time around... or did I speak too soon?

Note that also if this was it for major rain this year, that doesn't mean that it's the cool season yet. Quite often you get some weeks of really hot weather before the cool season kicks in for the first time (it comes in spells) somewhere late November, when those big blobs of high pressure arrive from China.

Ever year, there is a short "cool season" preview and then it goes back to being hot until the real thing happens. My guess is that this is only temporary.

The Old Hands tell me 15th October is 'Traditional' date for start of the cool season.

Been cool for last 10 days or so, I have stopped using my air con.

Yeah, I realise that. I was going by the freshness of the air in general. Typically here it has been the third-fourth week in October where there is a definite switch.

Early or late I don't know but this afternoon on the bike I was thinking it felt cool season cool. We've had several morning fogs up here in Pai as well.

My car has an outside digital temperature display and it showed 23-24 coming home from work. Doesn't seem right so not sure if it is broken or not.
