Ex-Soldier Goes Berserk in Sattahip

SATTAHIP:--A 25-year-old former soldier apparently high on drugs twice entered a military woman’s home in Sattahip. He was arrested after the first illegal entry. But he was set free the next day, and invaded her house again with a knife and destroyed her property while she was away.

SATTAHIP – October 11, 2012 [PDN]; at 1 p.m, a report of a man with a knife threatening people and entering someone’s home was received by Pol. Capt. Aekkachai Mullee, investigation officer, Sattahip police station. He rushed to inspect at scene along with Pol. Col. Chonnapat Nawalak, Superintendent, Sattahip police station; Pol. Lt. Col. Prakorb Saengpring, Deputy Superintendent; Pol. Lt. Col. Niphon Pomsanarm, Deputy Superintendent; the detective police team and inspectors, totalling almost 10 officers.

Police arrived at a single-story house in Sattahip, where the frightened homeowner was standing with a neighbor a safe distance from her house.

The homeowner was identified as Lt. Ubonrat Meun-eam, age 54, Special Activity Division, Sattahip naval base, address 72 Moo 3 Tambon Sattahip, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province.

Ms. Ubonrat said the mad man was carrying a knife to hack at people, and he had climbed the fence of her house to destroy property. It appeared that the crazed man was high on amphetamines.
