ChiefBEM
MarcoH This is the bungalo complex my unit lived in. It was on street over from the main gate to the RTAF Base. The bungalos are gone and this is what the area looks like now.

ChiefBEM
The area around the corner from the Liathong Hotel was the "Night Club" area in the 60s and 70s. There were 4 clubs (See Saw, Fairlane, Cosair, and the Jaguar.) Part of one of the clubs is still there. I think it is still called the "See Saw." It used to be a lot bigger. Directly across the street from the See Saw was the Fairlane. Further down from the Fairlane was the Corsair Club. In 1970 Robbie an American (retired AirForce) who was working on the base as a contractor supervisor in the power plant bought the Corsair Club and started serving Pizzas. The increased the beer sales because of the ground hot peppers in the pizzas. Across the street from the Corsair Club was the Jaguar Club. After the clubs all closed the next hangout for some was the Ubon Hotel Restaurant. Thats it for now.
