That's the less spectacular one that costs several thousand bath. The traditional one is probably the weekend before, around the 24th.

I think so. It is usually the weekend before Loi Kratong which this year is the 28th.

Don't take my word for it though. Hopefully someone can confirm.

i am under the impression that there are two "releases"...one a paid one and the other, free and public... see the monk's website for details..

This is from the FREE celebration a few years ago. Great time, traffic and parking was a nightmare though.
