Want 2 Buy Used Aircon With Resale Value

Featured Replies

Where would you guys go ? To a general repairman who has connections, or is there a place where I can go have a look at a bunch of used units lying around ? Who have you guys used in the past ?

The flat's about 3 x 7 m, so I don't need a terribly strong a/c. Maybe go for a new one that's covered by warranty n installation and have done with it ? You reckon overall cost works out the same, but better with a newer unit ?

And yes, I've looked at the other threads on aircon. I'm looking for new info, please. Especially the used market.

Thanks !

I think new is the way to go.

Having said that I did purchase one unit used; a Saijo Denki industrial grade unit that mounts to the floor like you would find in a hospital room. I forget how many BTU's but it is a very powerful unit. I got it from PK Air on the Hang Dong Road. I found them to be very honest and they gave a 6 month warranty. They had a few that they bought at auction of a failed business. They were very lightly used. They usually have a number of used units available at their shop. I think they get them all at auction, go through and bring them up to spec, etc. About 2 years now and no problems with the unit at all. I forget now but I think it cost about about 7500 including delivery/installation.

Actually I might be a little off on the price. The g/f reminded me that she paid a deposit of 1K or 1.5K THB when she first found the unit and that I paid the balance. So it may have been in the range of 8500-9K THB.

If you are looking at resale value why not just get a new one. Or are you planing on reselling it quickly.
