Howdy.... I once used a visa agent in Vientiane, down on the river front. It was a travel agents and the guy that ran the visa service was Mr Kong or Mr Korn something simmilar to that. I foung him and his phone number on Thai Visa, maybe a year or two ago.

I have searched the forum but cant find this original post. Does anyone out there know who this guy is? I need to phone him before i leave for V on 31st as I land in V at 10:45am and want to know if i can get my passport in to him that morning, or the next day.

Any help appreciated!

Best, TLS

Why go to all the trouble of looking for an agent? Just go to the consular office before 12:00, turn in your passport, pics, and copies, etc., and pick it up the next day. Pay 20 baht to one of the many 'assistants' in front of the consular office gate to check over everything, if you're not sure. If you're missing something, they can supply it.

Doubt you'll make it the same day, however, if you land at 10:45. Don't bother going there in the early AM the next day, with all the crowds. Go later, and fly right through...

I dont realy see it as too much trouble - I think I can remember where the shop is and all you have to do is hand over your passport to him, collect it the next day. No lines, no crowds, no heat.... Crash in the hotel with air con while its all taken care of

Many agents opposite the embassy, as other poster have suggested do it yourself.

Story here have been to Vientiane Embassy many times. I have watched agents approach the first day window with a number of passports in their hands and heard and watched them being told no way, by the fellow and the lady who take your passports and applications. Agents cannot get you a same day visa although they may tell you different.

On one of my trips I took the Thai girlfriend, we asked at the window day one hand in passport and application, could we possibly pay a higher fee and receive my visa the same day. No way. We went inside and waited for my receipt and asked at all three windows could I possibly pay a higher fee and get my visa the same day, all replied no.

My girlfriend approached one of the women on my behalf. The lady asked her why? Tanya told her that we were both school teachers and were missing time from work. We are both teachers. The lady told

Tanya to write a short note to that effect, that we required my visa the same day due to missing work, she was told to go outside and get a copy of her Thai passport, front page and her I.D. Tanya did so and gave the woman the note/letter and copies of PP and I.D. The lady told me to come back at 3p.m. not 1p.m. the same day. She told us that they could not and would not accept money for this service as it was not available and it was not embassy policy to issue visas the same day.

So I did get my Non B, one of 4 in the past 3 years in one day. While I have watched agents being refused this service for clients. End of story.

Are you sure? no other website shows this... they had the river festival on the 30th (I am in Vientiane now and they just concluded the river festival on the night of the 30th)...

Jesus, that sucks... the train from Bkk was six hours late, so that was an extra day and now it could be yet another day? Should have brought more cash... and now the train ticket purchased on arrival in Nong Khai will go to waste...

Why use Vientiane agent for what? Do you know that there is a lot of scam there? There can do illegal thing through your passport, they just need a copy of it.

Used an agent, there are many there in all of the travel agents around town. Passport picked up next day with double entry TV. No hassles.

To all the posters that have eluded to agents copying passports etc.... I appreciate the concern and warning, but its a little alarmist in my opinion. Whenever I am told these theories of horror I always ask the same question: Thats all well and good, but do you ACTUALY know anyone that this ACTUALY happened to?
