BillStrangeOgre
Hi, i will be returning to Bangkok for 11 days soon. I am interested in finding a decent hotel or apartment that will give me a good rate for 11 days. Is it possible to find something reasonable for around 500 baht per day? Cheers
pomchop
It all depends on your definition of DECENT hotel/ apartment. There are several hotels along soi 4 for 500-600 baht a night....swan inn, happy inn. They are certainly not what anyone would consider NICE but if all you need is a bed and a somewhat grungy bathroom and an A/C that may or may not work along with a ten watt lightbulb then it will fit the bill. They are ok for a night or two but i would not really much want to spend 11 nights there.
smokie36
Double your budget if you want anything liveable I reckon. As said above...for 11 days you will want somewhere better than a flophouse.
Sateev
Of course, it all depends on where the OP wants to stay. In the non-tourist areas, he might just be able to find something livable in that price range. Near Sukhumvit, forget it.

Doesn't have to be on Sukhumvit but i would need to be near the MRT or BTS Any ideas? Cheers

CharlieH
I could recommend somewhere thats wonderful, new clean and the best beds I have ever slept in huge supermarket nearby and about 300 metrs from the MRT but it would be 1000 a night. Well worth every baht for the standard of accomadation you get. I know because I just left there and use it all the time when in Bangkok. If you want to up the budget, message me.

babyjesus
Check out Tune hotel Asoke. It is running about 400bht per night in December. Very good place, close to MRT and BTS, great beds, good bathrooms.
dddave
Not exactly handy to the bright lights but I just booked 4 nights at the NASA VEGAS across from the RHAMKHAMHENG rail link station for my sister and her husband. (it's close to where I live) I used AGODA.COM and got Superior rooms for B490 a night. Standard rooms were going for even less.
arthurwait
Don't go for the cheapest place. Decide where you want to be most nights and then agoda it or you will spend more money and time travelling or going home early.

Mooner
A little over what u wanted to pay but i can recommend the Diamond Residence (Ratchada) 800 bt and Be high suites (Lad Phrao) 600bt both within walking distance to the MRT. 60-80 bt in a taxi to Sukhumvit or if its rush hour jump on the MRT. Richie23
Hi. I would think the best bet would be to look around the khao San rd part of town. Quite a few in that price range up there.

madmitch
Maybe above your budget but check out the mystery hotels on wotif.com. You can often work out which hotels they are. 500 baht in BKK? Try Hostelworld or Hostelbookers. They specialise in budget places and have private rooms available as well as dorm beds.
