Excerpt from Streats: Wed Feb 4:

Bangkok- Angry villages in Thailand's Phanom Thuan district in Kanchanaburi province have criticised PM Thaksin Shinawatra's televised chicken-eating stunt for two different reasons.

One group has challenged him to come and eat their chickens and has offered compensation of 10 million baht to anyone who dies from doing so.

Their challeng followed Dr. Thaksin's offer to pay three million baht compensation to anyone who dies from doing so.

But Mr Chamnan Boonmanuj was upset for a different reason. His six-year old son Nong Kaptan was the first in Thailand to die from the flu on Sunday.

His father told the Bangkok Post:"Instead of eating the KFC chicken the prime minister should come to our vilage. We will cook for him, if he has the guts."
