Advice Needed.

I am looking for some advice so hopefuly you guys here can aid and hopefully points are relevant to this forum: firstly i am returning back to Haiti next week, my original planned booking was leave on Monday with Emirates, (this is still showing on their website as confirmed) however i squeezed an extra day holiday here and are confirmed as leaving Tuesday (on "view my trip"). I tried to call Emirates office for confirmation but its out of hours.

Secondly, i was delayed leaving Haiti 20th Oct due to delays by AA and so missed my connections to BKK and had to pay 200US$ to Emirates in JFK as a fine i guess, Can i get a re-imbursement from AA does anyone know, my company agent booked this as two seperate booking with the carriers AA Haiti - JFK and Emirates JFK - BKK so both airlines delivered on this however AA caused alot of time and cash.

Finally, any tips on how to get a seat with more legroom in economy as the Dubai - JFK leg is over 14hours.
