One Way Flights To England From Bangkok

Featured Replies

I know I'm jumping the gun a little but have faith in this application,so I'm looking at flights. I have found a few that fit the bill and budget. I have been told not to pay with my card in England because it might cause problems. I should let her pay with card she has in Thailand.

Is this correct or just banter?

Some airlines insist that the holder of the credit card ( used to buy the ticket ) is present and flying. This is to help prevent credit card fraud, for instance buying tickets with stolen credit cards.

That might be a problem as the card is in my name. Might have to go with plan B as soon as I think of one ;)

Some airlines may refuse but not all. Check with the airlines you might use. She may well only need the card/cardholders details at her end, or even call you as she is checking-in and you can confirm the details over the phone.

You can contact the airlines customer service office and explain the situation and offer any documents they may need,at check-in this will be flagged and she will be OK,I have done this before myself and said if there was any problem to call me ....but as i had emailed them before they didn't and all was well.

As Simond says just inform them of the situation and everything will be fine.

Will talk to them when I book. Just know my luck.

If I can get a week from work I will go and get her but there is little chance of that.

Thanks for the advice

Visa Plus is correct when he says that many carriers insist of sight of the card used for booking, some even insist that the card holder is actually travelling.

Don't take it for granted that you can just show the original card at an airlines office, some allow you to sign a waiver, Thai for instance, but many don't.

One way round it is to book via a travel agent, you don't then need to show the card at check in, the risk is transferred to the agent.

If you buy the ticket from an online travel agency it will not be a problem.

If on airlines website you will not be able to buy the ticket if they have a policy of requiring the name on the card to be the same as the person flying unless the card holder is also traveling.

It will be an online agent it always seems to be less than if I buy direct from the airline .

Everything is sorted just need the visa. ;)
