Investment Visa Requirements

Featured Replies

So having read that an investment visa can be obtained with 3 million baht deposited in government bank etc...what does that get you? A 1 year visa with 3 monthly reporting, like retirement visa. Also as long as funds are on deposit do you need to have proof of other funds coming into the country to support your self?, ...thanks

Yes the same but the difference is you are not expected to use those funds in the course of the year like a retirement visa.

Also as long as funds are on deposit do you need to have proof of other funds coming into the country to support your self?

No proof of other income is needed.

Could the funds be deposited with the excepted thai government bank(is it krung thai bank term deposit?) now and then use this a few years down the track to get the approprate visa...keeping the t/t forms as proof of overseas remittance. Although i am married to thai lady for last 15 years this method seems less hassle when you have spare money that you intend to invest any way.

thanks again

Krung Thai Bank, Government Savings Bank, Bank for Agriculture and Cooperative, Ratanasin Bank, Srinakhorn Bank, Nakhornluang Thai Bank, Housing Bank

You need the Foreign Exchange Cert from the bank here in Thailand.

Sunbelt, in your experience could it also be invested in a mutual fund managed by one of these government banks, for example a fund of Krung Thai Bank?

Om Sin is the only bank operating out in the sticks up North.

Not a 'kiddie' bank, but I imagin they have lots of 'poor' customers...
