Ed Visa W/ Re-Entry Permit In Passport < 6 Month Validity Left

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am currently outside of Thailand. Will I have problems re-entering Thailand in two weeks?

- I have a non-imm ED visa (that expires in Dec, when I will be due to get the next 3 months at chiang wattana)

- I paid for the re-entry permit before I left thailand 3 weeks ago

- Current passport will have 4 months and a week of validity left when I plan to reenter Thailand (through Suwanabumi airport)

My original plan was to return to Bangkok. Then go to the embassy and get a new passport. Then go to Chiang wattana immigration and get the ED visa transfered over to the new passport.

I am suddenly worried that I might have problems entering Thailand as the passport has < 6 months. So I am considering going to get a new passport before entering Thailand. However:

- I don't think I will get the new passport in time. Very much prefer to get the new passport in Bangkok if I can enter back with no problems

- I might actually get more problems showing a new passport alongside my invalidated old passport which contains the ED Visa and reentry permit (at immigration at airport)?

Your advice appreciated

No problem for entry into Thailand with current or two passports - but could be a problem if you have to enter any other country en-route without six month validity (you can check here).

Thanks for confirming @lopburi3, saw also in your other posts that this 6 month requirement has been lifted recently
