Featured Replies

Hello folks

Im sitting in CM waiting for my chinese visa. Can u recommend what is the best route to china(yunnan) ? Scenic views, no harsh, easy to travel...

Any ideas?

define best before asking

Overland about the only feasible way is via laos=need another visa, pay at border for most. Either via the main bridge near Vientiane or the tipical bekpek route via Chiang Kong-ferry-bridge to oppen 2014, then bus to Luang nam Tha-then change-most north laos towns-where you needd to overnight once in most cases, have a direct bus to first main town in CN=MengLa. or the -often overcrowded, direct CN-sleeperbus VTe-Luang Prabang-border-onto Kunming (2 nights an day in between). OR boat from Chiang Saen to JingHong, the Chinese idea of Thainess, but this was non-allowed for some time due to some shootings along-then no Lao visa needed.

China Eastern flies non-stop from CNX to Kunming.
