wondered if anyone had any info on obtaning a non b visa from the thai embassy in japan as I will be going there for an exhibition next month. I will be staying 5 days and have paperwork relating to my company but no wp3 form! Do I need a wp 3 as I'll be flying from bangkok. Do I need a letter of invitation from my company??

I know this has been answered in reference to penang and other countries in south east asia but not too much info on japan.

As of last week, no WP3 needed for one client who applied. It was ONLY a 90 day visa.

And I did submit a letter of invitation at embassy in Tokyo but that was in 1999. No WP3 back then.

Although in the link above it says WP3 is necessary only for citizens of Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, I'm pretty sure my Japanese friend who applied for Non-imm B at embassy in Tokyo was requested of it when he filed applicaation 15 months ago.
