If Paradon considers Thaksin like a brother, does he consider Yingluck like a sister?

I thought I read in one of the threads today that children under 18 would not be allowed into the protest by the police. Now I can't find it. We sure don't want the appearence of double standards do we?

It is a new name for old things and tricks. The Yellowshirt movement seems to have a new name every year. One year they call themselves the Multicolor movement, the next Pitak Siam. The bottom line is that we deal with a Neo fascist movement that will do anything to annul the wishes of the Thai voters. At first they figured out a system of appointed senators, than they came up with the idea of making the vote of a cheap academic worth more than that of a rural farmer but in the end we are dealing with people of Chinese descendants who do not give a dam_n about Thailand but who wants to mimic a Chinese system in which the rights of the poor come last.

Kidnapping a PM or an attempt to do so, occupying transportation systems or airport might force the army into committing a great crime again and taking over power. It is no secret that the <snip> Prem is a sponsor of the movement. Prem is celebrated as a great PM but only by the elite, for the rest of the country he is just a man who was never ever elected.

If Yingluck is wise she would take away children of yellow shirts who bring them to a demonstration, they would certainly try to use children as a human shield against police action and take a page out of Suthep's playbook. a life firing zone might do.

A leader named Saloth Sar succeeded in defeating the neo-fascists in his country. In fact, he got rid of the entire elite class. Now that country is an agrarian workers paradise. ermm.gif

So the PM gets kidnapped before the rally thereby eliminating her from being responsible for issueing any action that may be taken against the rally organisers and participants and miraculously is back in office on monday morning. Or in other words, she's going away for the weekend and other's heads can roll.....

I must have really high expectations for Thailand, as I keep getting disappointed. Especially by these red shirt people. What dumbass would say they were going to take someone like Yingsuck hostage? It's not like she's going to be at this rally. Most heads of state are taken AWAY from areas like this at a planned event. Well, at least in countries were education is a priority.

PM working as usual at Govt House, not attending Senate debate in Parliament

as usual, indeed.

.

Next, they just need to find an excuse for why she must continue to stay away, so that she will not be able to attend the Censure debate next week, too.

Its OK for the reds to loot and burn and riot and threaten. But not ok for anyone else. Off course, the whole purpose of the Red/government stance on this is to be able to blame the 'protest' movement for the mayhem that the reds will inevitably cause amongst the ranks of the protesters thus allowing the Government to give itself even more repressive powers. We're on our way!.

As you know others, you know you´r self.

Do not understand your response.

I think this post displays a tragic lack of understanding, not only of Thai politics, but also of the underlying Thai character!

The Govt just trying to get public sympathy ahead of no-confidence debate and that otherwise irrelevant protest. Actually by it's actions, the Govt is helping to make this protest much more significant than it would otherwise be. They use these wild stories about ASSassinations, kidnappings, coup d'etat, etc to create the appearance of being victimized. This is the image that Thaksin has been promoting for himself ever since he was convicted of corruption. Now, even though his mob has almost monopolized power in the country, they are trying to create a public image of being victimized .... this is classic Robert Amsterdam. i.e. the 'victimizer' claims to be 'victimized'. If you keep saying it enough times, some people start believing it.

If you say something enough times to people that are 'not clever' (I avoided the word stupid) they ALL believe it, afterall, brainwashing in the North East is a doddle however non-credible and rediculous it is!!

According to a report in the 'other' paper a group of disenfranchised farmers will take part in the rally.

Including the previously reported groups from the south & the farmers, looks like the disillusioned includes those way beyond the usual yellow shirts. It's no wonder the government & it's ally (the BIB) are sh*t scared & doing their best to prevent (forcefully if necessary) people from attending.

" If police become outnumbered, they will call for backup from other agencies."

Now what other "agencies" will they be calling on ? The army ? That would be playing right into the arms of the protesters.

Or maybe they could look at being reinforced by Cambodian mercs in black jumpsuits to help them out. ph34r.png

Just heard from one of my reliable sources (or not) the farmers are going to kidnap Yingluck and make her cut rice for 250 Bhat a day for two weeks and she will have to wear green 20 Baht boots bought at the local market, eat sticky rice, grass hoppers and local Esaan food. I sure hope my source is wrong.

"The court found no grounds to believe that the rally was aimed at overthrowing the country's democratic system of government" except for the fact that Boonlert said the whole reason behind the rally was to overthrow the democratically elected government. These judges are sharp.

Yes, they can comprehend that "overthrowing the government" does not mean the same as "overthrowing the country's democratic system."

Why can't you?

which democratic system??? A super rich buys every couple of years his election with vote buying and destroys every check-balance system so he can act like a dictator.

I don't see any difference than a "normal" dictator. The elections are just a little more than a farce in big parts of the country. With bus loads of worker who got told what to vote for being brought to the boots, they checkmark what they are told so, get the money and will be brought back. Only having elections does not make a democracy....East Germany also had elections, North Korea has elections.....Thaksin told several times that he favors a 1 party system. A one party system is exactly what they had in East Germany (North Korea has a second party).

She's a billionairess in her own right. Same as her nephew and nieces.

That alone could mark her as a potential kidnap target.

Same as just being an ex-PM could mark anyone else to be a potential assassination target.

What's lacking in both of these specific instances of the Shinawatras is that pesky thing called proof.

Well exactly. So if someone makes a threat against say the head of CP they call an ISA.

Perhaps there has been. Hopefully, the National Police Chief will clarify later today which prominent figures have been targeted as apparently the expanding conspiracy now includes those under threat besides Yingluck.

Police Major-General Piya Uthayo, National Police Spokesman, said the National Police Chief will today explain every step of the ISA enforcement including protection for the homes of prominent figures.

Interesting. Not too jump to conclusions, but when they say kidnap, i wonder if that could translate as detain?

Exactly. Red shirt supporters were full of their 'right' to overthrow another government in 2010. But of course it's not 'right' to overthrow 'our' government.

"...while the police chief expressed fears the protesters may try to kidnap the prime minister."

Well now, that's a convenient rumor/tactic. Reds are getting mighty scared about tomorrow. Heaven forbid democracy and free speech is allowed to exist under their regime.

Yea you are right just like what happened when the yellows took over. Right????

Well looks to me like the Yellow shirts are going to start the trouble this time. So now all you yellow shirt lovers down there gor ahead because we have had a nice peaceful time for what 1 + years?

Sorry but you don't know what you're writing about.

Peaceful - not quite with red shirts threatening CC judges, failed attempts to pass an amnesty law, failed attempts to amend the constitution. Do you actually live here?

Yellow shirts - wrong. This is a different group that has attracted, among others, PAD supporters, Multi-coloured shirt supporters, groups from the south & even disaffected farmers from Isan.

That's why the government is running around like headless chickens with all sorts of conspiracy theories & attempts (including physical ones) to try & stop the protest. They (PTP) are very close to inciting violence.

So let's get this straight - you believe that there should be no restriction on people's ability to loot, burn and riot ?

Do you know how ridiculous your argument is ?

SORRY A LIL OFF TOPIC BUT ALSO RELAVENT WITH THE QUOTE,,, "one must not impinge on the rights and freedoms of others"

Now If only the radical's of the south can learn this very basic concept, then not only can thailand but the greater world can be a hell of a lot more peaceful in the lives we choose to make here!!!
