Thai2English Alternative

Featured Replies

I am considering replacing my netbook with an android tablet. I have done most of the research and the only one programme I absolutely cannot live without is Thai2Engllish. I send a lo of emails in Thai and although I can read Thai I really cannot type so the fact that I can write in Phonetic Thai and quickly read it to check and paste into an email is invaluable. I see Thai2English doesn't support android yet so is there something else I can use until it does?

Doesn't support Android in what way? I'm not sure how you wouldn't be able to access it via a web browser (on the Android tablet)...

I am talking about the paid for software that you use offline on your PC, not the website.

Have you seen the Talking Thai app?

It's Benjawan Beckers 3-way dictionary on both iOS an Android, so you can look up words using phonetic Thai as well.

This is the Android version:

Thanks for that link, that looks like a really nice application, sadly it doesn't appear to have the functionality that Thai2English does, the main thing I need is the ability to type whole sentences in phoenetic Thai and paste into emails / documents.

For 6 years i have been using Thai2English and i never felt the need to look elsewhere because their machine is really very good. I am very curious about an alternative as well.

Wow, I have been searching hard and everything available seems to be either a dictionary or a learning app. Nothing that will translate whole sentences. Tried emailing Thai2english twice but they are not replying. Shame.

Good question.

The whole sentence can never be accurately translated unless you know the context. It is the same as translating Latin to English.

A computer cannot perform this action.
