November 25, 201213 yr I've figured out how to make Chrome open on a homepage I want, however when I open a new tab it always comes up with this rubbish - (removed) How can I get rid of this, and what is it and where did it come from? November 25, 201213 yr Go to Settings, look for "On Startup". If you have "Open a specific page or set of pages" selected, click on "Set Pages" and remove the crap ones. Oh, and if it happens again, you need to find out if it's being set by malicious code from a website or adware/spyware/malware on your PC. Can you describe what was in the "Rubbish" page? I did find a youtube video saying how to remove it but that didn't work - the home page is fine but it's when I open a new tab it goes to this sweetIM thing.
