MONDAY, 19 NOVEMBER 2012 14:33 WRITTEN BY MTVEXIT

MTV EXIT, an International NGO devoted to ending exploitation and trafficking, has announced a historic live concert to be held in Yangon next month, it will be Myanmar’s biggest international concert. MTV EXIT, in partnership with US Agency for International Development (USAID), AUSAID, Walk Free, and ASEAN Secretariat, have organized the concert to raise awareness and increase prevention of human trafficking, a major issue in the region.

The free concert will be held on December 16th in Yangon People’s Square with the iconic 2,600 year old history-laden Shwedagon Pagoda as the backdrop. Multi GRAMMY award-winning singer songwriter Jason Mraz will headline the event along with MTV EXIT Celebrity Ambassadors Phyu Phyu Kyaw Thein and R Zarni, as well as artists Sai Sai, Chan Chan, Chit Htu Wai, Linn Linn and Pyo Gyi. Sharing the stage with the musicians will be representatives from the anti-human trafficking sector, government, and donor community who work to combat human trafficking in Myanmar.

MTV EXIT is a campaign to raise awareness and increase prevention of human trafficking through television programmes, live events, and online content. To find out more visit:http://mtvexit.org/liveinmyanmar/
