St. Andrew's Day 2012

Featured Replies

Scottish people and those of Scottish ancestry around the world will know that Friday is Scotland's national day (st. Andrew is a busy saint of course as he is patron to half a dozen other countries as well as Scotland). Anyway as a British pub we always celebrate the patron saints days of our islands and Friday is no exception. We've got a few Scottish dishes for you to try, as you tap your toes to some Scottish tunes, traditional and modern, from our collection. There'll also be a free dram of Scotch whisky for the first 25 people who come along and a free dram of a half-decent single malt if you spend over 500฿.

Food wise this is what we're offering:

Pork steak with clapshot (mixed potatoes., swede, carrots and onions) 120฿

Honey & Lemon chicken also served with clapshot 120฿

Stovies and Skirlie (Stovies are diced beef with dripping and fatties, Skirlie is onion and oatmeal with dripping) 150฿

Hardly a good Scottish dish sad.png

Stovies very good. What no Haggis, neeps, and tatties, that's mashed turnip (not swedes bah.gif ) and mashed potatoes, with the piper to lead in (pipe in) the Haggis. Wish I could be there for the stovies & skirlie, maybe next year. Good effort Pedro thumbsup.gif .

Not wishing to say anything detrimental about our moderators for fear of a life time ban, but where in heavens can you purchase turnips in CM ? Let alone swedes.

Every Villa Market in Thailand sells Turnips. But terrible expensive. Swedes are just Swedish turnips

Well done Pedr. :)

Have you sorted that flag out yet though?

I will be in soon to check. :P

I hope our Swedish friends don't object to being described as 'turnips'. That was not you intention was it?

Just to make certain you are replacing that tiny bit of cloth you have on the wall for it aren't you?
