masuk
I recently bought some frozen curries from Rimping, made by British Indian Restaurant Curry in Chiang Mai. The weight was given as minimum 360g. These were more like 500g! No searching for the chicken pieces, as they're there in great big chunks. I can thoroughly recommend them. Added a bit of rice, yoghurt and papaya chutney and a meal for a couple of nights. Arroi mak!
worgeordie
Yes I miss those canned curries too, they were a quick tasty meal if you added a bit onion, potato to them,I have not seen them for well over a year,so have to do with the Mae Ploy brand which are OK but about half the size of the other brand, its name I also cannot remember. The only place i can find the Mae Ploy is Tops, Rim Ping does not sell them now, Regards Worgeordie

MESmith
Canned curries , what wrong with fresh food ? Sometimes, on occasion, folk might just want a quick meal & not have time to cook their normal "cooked from fresh ingredients" dinner or lunch?
worgeordie
Canned curries , what wrong with fresh food ? So you only eat fresh food, NOTHING canned, frozen, processed or dried, good for you regards Worgeordie
WinnieTheKhwai
Are we talking Thai or Indian curries? There are some reasonable carton packs (like a small milk carton) with the usual Thai curries. (Green, Yellow, Phanaeng, etc.) They're okay after adding meat and whatever else you fancy. (Although it's almost just as easy to use the regular curry pastes you can buy at any market or supermarket, then add some coconut milk, meat, etc.) Edited December 2, 2012 by WinnieTheKhwai
worgeordie
Hi Winnie These are Thai curries, Green,Yellow,Mastaman, chicken or pork, its just handy having some tins in for when you want a quick meal with minimum preparation, and they taste ok, when i or the wife make Thai curries from scratch we use the pastes where you can buy anywhere,I buy packets at Makro and transfer them to jars and the keep long time in the fridge.have not tried the ready made sauces in packets you describe, but i suppose they are just for one meal so could work out more expensive than the pastes. regards Worgeordie

Sausage King sells Indian Curries in Rimping @ 99baht each.We may start to do a range of Thai curries with lots of meat as we make Thai pies like yellow curry-green curry etc Thai Curries might work, depends a lot on the price,as curries can be had for 30-40bht in all wet markets, the advantage for you is they will be hygienic, that would be a selling point for you,and that customers could keep a few in freezer which would be convenient ,I suppose 60-70 bht would be maximum you could charge for them,Yellow with potato, Green ,Red, Masaman would be best sellersRegards Worgeordie, PS One 1 Dec i bought one of your Rogan Josh and 1 DoPiaza from Curry Nights ,the DoPiaza was very disappointing,no taste at all,I dont mean hot, no taste of spices at all, While your Rojan Josh was very tasty, and lot cheaper at 99bht, but both not as good as the Indian curries I make, but I would say that, regards Worgeordie
HullyGully
I would recommend Curry Nights..as another person pointed out, you do not have to search for the chicken If you buy direct from Richard you save around 10% ish
