Sorry, William, but this sub forum is for travel in Thailand only. Our other travel sub forum is for travel in SE Asia only. We don't really have a sub forum for travel in China.

As an avid traveler, I'd highly recommend getting a guide book. Lonely Planet is a good one. If you are spending this much money for a trip, 800B more is worth it to get an idea of what there is to see.

I've spent months in China and have still not seen most of the country. It's huge.
