I like Ireland, lots of good pubs.

I heard they recently started exporting this Irish pub concept thing... :D so you feel at home whereever you are on earth :D ...or did you mean the lush countryside? (on your way to the pub) :o

India... esp Rajasthan scenery, wildlife, atmosphere, variety of life. downside curry for every meal! inc breakfast.

Also Sri Lanka ...so much variety in such a small island, downside only place I have ever had baggage tampered with at airport.

Anybody got anything good to say about Korea? The South that is. :D Thinking of going there as a getaway from Songkhran in LOS and wanted to see if anyone had any recs.

My favourite destination outside of LOS has got to be Laos in Asia and France in Europe.

It's funny, you can get decent French plonk in Laos, but you can't get decent lao lao in France. :o So, for the moment I'll have to stick to my nips of Ricard on the rocks, as the sun goes down over the Atlantic surf. :D

Prague...the city, the women, the food, simply stunning.

Paris - by far the best-organized metropolis I've ever been to and one of the few places in the world where you will never run out of things to do.

New York City - my first love, just like Bangkok there's something hard to define about it which makes it an extremely charming place to live in.

Vienna - such an aristocratic place, a beer or a wine spritzer on a hot summer's day on the KartnerStrasse can't be beat

Macau - the blend of Portuguese and Chinese cultures makes it a truly unique place...if it weren't for the pushy locals, it would be a perfect place to live - beautiful quiet streets and parks, yet just a 45-minute boat away from the glamor & sleaze of Hong Kong.

In terms of countries, a special mention should go to Malaysia...went there 3 times and would gladly go back for more, the variety of places and things to do on offer, the extremely high standard of civilization for a SE Asian country and the high-tech look of KL make it a great place, with an even greater future in store.

If you like ski, don't miss Yong Pyong (Dragon Valley). Cheaper to join tour package than going by yourself.

Kyungju(Gyeonju), the ancient Capital of Shilla Kingdom (7-9 centuries), Bulguksa temple, UNESCO World heritage site

Lotte World, Samsung Everland - Amusement Parks

Seoul Tower, Kyungbokgung Palace, Biwon (Secret Garden)

Bukchon traditional village

Cheju Island, Busan, the second largest city. It takes 3 hr 20 min by bullet train from Seoul.

Sydney, Australia. Pic taken from my balcony, Potts Point...

sydview3.jpg

I'm sure I saw this pic before...but don't remember where :o

In my posts on this board and on another one maybe a year ago. I have dozens from the same location at various stages of city's development.

Here is another one, notice the navy ship and training yacht are not there.

Those were TV stations helicopters. Can't remember what they were covering.

That was the downside of living centrally. Most of action happens on the harbour, in the city or around the Opera House...the choppers wake you up if it is in the morning.

I think I could put up with anything if I lived in that pad, with that view, in that city!! :o

Barcelona is my choice. Reasons include the friendly locals, reasonable prices, the views, paiella and Gaudi's architecture. Plus attending a FC Barcelona football match!
