Can i still now tirn around and get the 30 day visa at an airport arriving from an international destination? Good luck. i dont think it matters what border does it? reports are you can now get only 3 or 4 15 day land passes. this could not be per border or people could simply travel around in a circle all year and get stamps. im getting s new visa soon so not an emergency for me, but it could cause inconvience towards the end. barefoot1988 Posted December 15, 2012 Share Posted December 15, 2012 what red stamp was that and what reports had you seen a restriction on border crossing? i only heard of red stamps on tourist visa. previously there was only a thread about max 4 border crossing but afew members including me posted having no issues despite having more than 4 consecutive stamps. im in maesai now and had been crossing maesai border nearly daily, no issues. From what i know and told, they are stopping passport with dodgy stamp from mailing passport for stamps, getting a dispatch for stamps etc etc why are you given a red stamp? what did they told you? it could be your nationality, i don't know. Mae Sot seems to be checking people after 3 consecutively visa run, but that is legit n in line with the official policy. But are you really leaving Thailand and then getting 15 days each time? You can cross over border without being stamped out of Thailand or entering Burma officially. Kap Choeng Immigration which is 11km north of the crossing has verified this. Are we led to believe that the OP got a straight red stamp without any prior questioning as to why he was doing so many consecutive 15 day border runs? He doesn't state his nationality, the number of border runs he has done, whether he has been warned before etc. Something doesn't add up. The last case I heard about restrictions on 15 day crossing (on thaivisa also) was also at Mae Sot. Could it be that there is a vigilante immigration officer there making his own interpretation of the rules if he doesn't like your face/attitude? Some people have legitimate reasons for doing 15 day runs. Especially since the law change this year that you can't get a non O for dependent child based on just name on birth certificate. Getting the legitimisation documentation that many people didn't realise they needed from the family court can often take a few months to obtain....... But beyond that they should get a tourist visa. For most people a two entry visa is easy to get in Vientiane or Savannakhet Laos. And the myanmar entry stamps from the Thai-Myanmar border will not allow you to travel to Rangoon to catch a flight back to Bangkok. so i show up on the day my last 15 expires and they tell me in exit no more passes? the option is then to get out of the country within a day or two and settle affairs. if im lucky and hear the agent correctly, they may mention it on the last pass as to give me forwarning (the red stamp). IMA_FARANG Posted December 17, 2012 Share Posted December 17, 2012 IF you actually have a red stamp in your passport it's going to be very unlikely to get any entry visa or stamp when entering Thailand. It may be possible, but that red stamp is like a red flag to the immigration, and you will very likely have to answer some very pointed questions at the very least. The reason, although they may not SAY it directly is almost always because they think your working in Thailand illegally without a work permit. That is why someone in immigration gave you a red stamp in the first place, at least in most of the cases of actual red stamps that is the case. Usually, unless you are very dense and not listening they probably told you at least once that you were abusing the rules and trying their patience in immigration.
