PATTAYA:--In just one hour, 15 suspected drug users were caught at a Police Checkpoint in Central Pattaya. The operation involved over 60 officers and began just after 9pm. The checkpoint was situated in Soi Bongkot outside the Euro Grande Hotel.

Pattaya Police were joined by Traffic Police Officers and officers from the Banglamung District Narcotics Unit who are currently working hard with local communities to reduce drug usage which remains a major problem around Pattaya at this time.

The 15 men and women were subjected to roadside presumptive drug tests which were followed by blood tests at Banglamung Hospital

15 suspected drug users in one hour = "a major problem around Pattaya".

That said, it depends where the road block was setup and were they targetting customers of certain venues.

they are just kids.....how is it that the "end users" are the criminals? Some might argue they are the "victims of crime". Its the pushers and manufacturers that need to be caught to break the supply chain.

or legalise all drugs.....have Govenrment sponsored outlets. With rows of beds with I.V. stands so anyone can shoot up, snort, inject and cram any kind of chemical crap into their bodies.

Then have a row of coffins sitting next to them (just in case it all goes wrong ) and invite the masses to try...

any takers now ? I doubt it...

the police must know where the drug dealers are because the buyers take taxi motorbikes to the houses constantly and in any case they are probably supplied by the police, so it would be very easy to set up a checkpoint on the soi occasionally in the interests or pr

I wonder why do most of them appear to be shirt-less?

If they caught only 15 drugusers in an hour at that location that would mean they called it quits after they reached the number.

No actual narcotics were found and all 15 are due to be charged with consumption of a class 1 drug which carries a maximum sentence of 45 days behind bars if the conviction is successful.

Well done fellas. 60 BIB and not a single drug found.

I wonder why do most of them appear to be shirt-less?

Sold them for drugs?

Well done fellas. 60 BIB and not a single drug found.

thats because the place where they buy wouldnt have been selling while the checkpoint was there, but its ok, the police will sell them some yaabaa in the cells at soi 9 so nobody suffers to much in this PR stunt
