December 17, 201213 yr I need some lighter fuel to clean some steel, all I can find is bundles of cigarette lighters with the fuel in! If it comes to a push I will have to break them open and pour into a glass bottle but would prefer to buy it in a small tin say 100/250 ml. Used to get a can of Ronson's in the UK anything similar here or any idea what sort of shop/store might seel me what I want? Thanks for any information forth coming.
December 17, 201213 yr Hi Best supermarket north pattaya/naklua certainly used to sell it, may still do so. One of the carts on the ground floor of Big C north shopping centre 2 nd Road had some for sale only a week or so ago,it was on one of the cart/stalls selling lighters..
December 17, 201213 yr Unlike Bic lighters which use butane gas, Zippos use naptha. Lighter fluid in a can is going to be naptha. Why not buy a quart of it at a paint or home improvement store for about 300 baht and be done with it? I restore old Schwinn bicycles and there's probably no kind of steel or aluminum or cad plating or chrome I haven't learned to clean. With more detail about what you're doing, I might have an idea for you. How about an apparently rusty beyond hope chrome wheel that I dipped? Edited December 17, 201213 yr by NeverSure
December 17, 201213 yr Author I have built a model railway but the track gets very dirty and was advised that lighter fuel or carbon tetro chloride would be the best to keep the rails clean. I live in Nakhon Sawan, so not so touristy as Pattaya and similar, the range of shops and products is not what it might be, big C stalls that sell lighters might be worth a try though, thanks.
