Health Man in Mukdahan Contracts Flesh-Eating Bacteria
Pictures courtesy of Matichon. Local health authorities have reported a confirmed case of necrotising fasciitis, commonly referred to as a “flesh-eating bacterial infection”, in the province of Mukdahan. The patient, a man residing in Mueang Mukdahan District, is currently receiving treatment at Mukdahan Hospital after developing a serious infection in his right arm. Doctors identified the causative agent as Streptococcus pyogenes, a dangerous bacterium that can lead to rapid tissue destruction if not treated promptly. According to hospital sources, the patient had suffered a minor scrape on his right arm and elbow after a fall at home. Initially, the injury seemed insignificant. However, he soon began experiencing respiratory discomfort and sought medical attention. Upon closer examination, doctors noticed severe inflammation and signs of tissue necrosis in the affected arm. Further tests confirmed the presence of the aggressive bacteria, prompting immediate medical intervention. Hospital staff have since been monitoring the patient’s condition closely. Thankfully, early signs indicate that the wound is beginning to heal under ongoing treatment. Necrotising fasciitis is a rare but life-threatening condition that requires urgent medical care. The bacteria can spread quickly, destroying skin, fat and muscle tissue and potentially leading to death if untreated. In response to the incident, municipal officers from Kham Ahuan Subdistrict visited the patient’s home to disinfect the premises. Sanitising sprays were used throughout the residence and its surroundings as a preventive measure, aiming to reassure the local community and reduce any potential risk of bacterial spread. While such infections are not typically contagious, public health officials stress the importance of good hygiene and prompt medical attention for any wounds or signs of infection. The situation is being closely monitored by local health authorities, who continue to provide support to the patient and his family. Adapted by Asean Now from Matichon 2025-06-25 -

Kex, formerly Kerry - recent experiences?
Reality is that China isn't a communist country and hasn't been for many decades. The word communist is in the country name but the leaders have said many times the word is no longer applicable. Capitalist companies are everywhere in China. Plus many JV's with many famous international companies. -

Economy Political Jitters and Falling Numbers Shake Thailand’s Tourism Recovery
Whether I be taxi ripoffs as soon as you leave the airport or collapsing buildings it all comes down to greed and corruption so tourists are opting for safer, enjoyable destinations, and considering the fact that the greed and corruption starts at the very top there’s not much chance of things changing any time soon, unfortunately ,
