Re-Entry Permit On Extension Of Stay, What Is Needed?

Featured Replies

I know it has possibly been done before, but can not find it.

Just need to know what documents are needed for re-entry permit on extension of stay Non B visa?

I need to fly out urgently due to serious illness in the family, but no ticket or anything yet, so what do i need to do, what documents are need to take to immigration?, the fastest way to obtain the re-entry permit

You only need your passport TM8 application form, 1 photo and copies of your entry/permit to stay (extension) stamps and TM6 departure card.

You can the re-entry permit at the airport (0600-2400) just before going through immigration check after getting your boarding pass. They will make copies and take photo which is part of 200 baht extra fee above 1000 baht for single re-entry permit.

I am in a similar situation as the OP. My father is very ill in the UK and I want to spend some time with him, maybe for the last time. I am on a 1 year retirement permit and can easily get a TM 8 re-entry permit.

However I may be away for a number of weeks and I don't really want to go through the re-application process again, especially as I have just transferred in my 800T.

What is the maximum time you can stay out of Thailand on a TM8 without it affecting your residency?

The only limit is that you must be in the country to extend your permission to stay before the current one expires.

If not, you would need a new visa and start the extension process again.

As long as you want providing the permit is still valid

The permit is valid for the length of your permission to stay.

Many thanks. What happens with the 90 day reporting? If I am out of the country longer than 90 days is this no longer required until my return?

There is no 90 day report due unless you stay in Thailand more than 90 days without an exit so the count starts at one on each return.

I also have a Non-B and I want to extend it for another 3 months at the end of this month.I thought I had to go to the immigration office in BKK to get a new stamp.I didn't know it could be done at the airport ?

You can not extend a visa stay - we are talking about a re-entry permit to allow travel for someone already having a permitted to stay period and who wants to exit/return to complete that time. You can not normally extend a 90 day visa entry for another 90 days in any case. If you have a valid multi entry visa you exit and return for a new 90 day stay or if you have employment/work permit you submit the required paperwork to immigration for a one year extension of stay.

So if I want to get a multi entry non-b then I'll have to do that in BKK before I fly out ?

A visa you obtain from a Thai Consulate in another country for entry - not from immigration.

To save another visit to Immigration, I want to get a re-entry permit at the same time as I do my retirement extention. What do you put in the T.M. 8 in the section "I intend to go to" if I have no travel plans at this time?

As far as I can see there is no need to produce any air ticket etc.

Leave it blank or write any date you want. No need for a ticket.
