probably I'm not the only one who asked this, but I couldn't find anything on the quick. Long story short, got new non-b 3 months ago (valid for 1 year according to the visa sticker), I also have a WP and it's time for my 90 days report. So far so good. But now I'm also supposed to get a visa extension, which would cost me THB 1,900 again. Is this just a one-time procedure or do I have to this every 3 months?

You seem to have a multi entry non immigrant B visa so getting an extension defeats that visa (which only requires you exit/return every 90 days or less for a new 90 day stay). If you want to extend it is normally for one year and requires full company paperwork and income proof for your nationality and should be done during the last 30 days of any entry.

Do you already have a 1 year extension of stay you got from immigration or a multiple entry visa from an embassy or consulate?

If you already have the extension all you have to do is the 90 day reports.

If a visa you have to make a border run every 90 days or get the one year extension of any of your 90 day entries.

OP ..... Where did you go to get the 1 yr, Non B multiple entry???? & Have you checked recently [within last 10 days] to see if they are able to do the same type visa from that location?

That is a bit of an overstatement.

At most nearby consulates you will not get a multiple entry B visa. If you return to your home country or even go as far as Australia you can probably get one.

I'll go to immigration office with the visa guy from my work this week. Oh, and it's not a one year multiple entry I will need to get a one year extension first, showing the work permit etc. Eh, that visa stuff is confusing.

Is this the second or third year. I seem to recall something about them wanted to tie the dates together after getting the work permit one of those years.

You said you had a visa sticker valid for one year? And you say it is valid for one year and not multi entry? Where did you obtain this "sticker" and how much did it cost? Normally a visa (90 day entry) would only be valid for 90 days from date of application - the multi entry visa would be valid for one year (unlimited trips of up to 90 days each). But understand 'things happen' so perhaps this is one of them but very strange.

If you actually have a one year extension of stay is it really a sticker? I have only seen or heard of stamps being using for them - and you saying you need to get a one year extension seems to indicate you currently have a visa; but then you are saying extension will cost 1,900 baht "again" so it would appear you already have a one year extension and only need to make 90 day address report. What exactly does it say as permitted to stay until or must leave date on what you have?
