Need Detailed Advice For Furthering Visa...<3

Featured Replies

I am an american on a 30 day visa stamp about half way through. I didn't have time to aquire the tourist visa before getting here and I am low on money as of now.

Can I simply take a bus to Cambodia or ??? and visit the Thai embassy there?

- Submit and application

- Wait 2 days?

Re enter?

Advide on my situation is greatly appreciated!!! <3 :)

Sest bet would be Savannakhat or Vientiane, Laos. Submit in the morning, pickup the next afternoon. Recent Rrports indicate that Cambodia is now taking 4 days.

How much longer do you wish to stay is a major factor as you will get 15 days with just a border crossing and return - a two entry tourist visa would likely be available in Vientiane if a much longer stay needed (although without money that might not be your intent).

I am in similar position in that I have cancelled my month long trip to Philippines which was to occur after having stayed in Thailand 30 days.

I have been in Thailand 2 weeks now and have a plane fare back to Australia after 3 months away, which will now all be spent in Thailand. I now need a 60 Thai visa, so I would like to know if I can get a Laos visa in Laos's Khon khan office then take a bus direct to Vientiane or Savannakhat and just fill out forms there, pay 1900 baht and pick up a 60 day visa the next day and return to KK?

In other words, no middle man or unforeseen problems at the border?

Yes that should work fine - remember you will need a one night stay in Vientiane but that should not be any problem and from reports I have seen Laos is a much easier crossing than some and with no local issues.

Yea this is what I will do how much is a bus ticket to Those places? and which one do I go to? Are they both Thai Embassy offices?

They are both Royal Thai Consulates.

The fee for a tourist visa is 1000 baht per entry applied for. Single entry would give a stay of 60 days plus a 30 day extension at immigration for 1900 baht.
