Sick bar tender’s desperate act on Pattaya Beach.

A sad story now from Pattaya Beach. This is Khun Soowit aged 28 who works as a bartender at the Pop Beach Bar in Soi 7. On Friday he received some news from a doctor after a routine health check uncovered a problem with his heart. He asked his girlfriend, Khun Ladawwan to take a day off from work and look after him on Friday and she refused because her employer would not give her the time off.

This led the man to this desperate act on Pattaya Beach in front of Mike Shopping Mall. Witnesses mentioned that the man began to walk into the water, shouting the name of his girlfriend as he went. Eventually rescue workers arrived and managed to track down Khun Ladawwan who pleaded with Khun Soowit to come out of the water. As he came back to shore, he was clearly in some distress and collapsed as he was about to be taken to Hospital. At the hospital, he became less agitated but doctors tell us that further cardiac examinations are needed to confirm the possibility he suffered a small heart attack in the water.

Some compassion from Khun Ladawwan's employer might have helped avert the call for symathy and or help in dealing with a possible frightening unknown! That's if she told him/her she wanted the day off in the first place and why!

It all depends if the girl had customers r not, if she would have had a customer it would have cost about 1000to 1500 baht more

They should also examine his head and tell him `to get a grip`

First of all, you have to understand Thai culture. Loss of face can have some serious consequences to a man. Second no one said Khun Ladawwan worked in a bar. When a Thai takes a day off of work they have to pay a penalty of 200 to 500 baht. This means this money will be deducted from their monthly pay. So give the guy a break.
