Easy to spot from the outside, so we start with an internal shot (not mine ... will acknowledge the author later)

So thats what it's like if you turn right????

Anyone want to take a guess where this was taken?

DMK 2011? :P

But in a pinch, I'll go with Mwanza, Tanzania approximately 5 miles short of the runway... Crashed whilst trying to land in a thunderstorm if I'm not wrong...

Something a little different this time.

First try for the Make and Model ... then we will try and spot the Airline.

If you are a pilot ... this view (apparently) will be well known to you ... biggrin.png

... and for those who do fly these magnificent beasts ... where are the cup-holders?

EDIT ... thanks SVB ... thumbsup.gif

I remember this one, being in my local paper when it happened, as this aircraft used to fly in-and-out of Manston, my then-local airport.

There was also another lovely prang, when someone pulled the wrong breaker on a DC8-freighter undergoing maintenance, so that the undercarriage retracted/gave-way. Ouch !

A Boeing of some description, let me have my morning coffee and I'll come back to you with a guess at the model...

A correct start ... thumbsup.gif

Must be one hell of a coffee GS you are having there.

So, yes, it's Boeing ... now the model type please ... biggrin.png

A little off topic but stumbled across this stunning YouTube video and thought I would share. The G550 is my favorite small jet. The video shows a copilot instrument failure after takeoff.

About GG: Gulfstream Girl spent many years as an international fashion model and spokesperson, with clients including Chanel, Christian Dior, and Vogue. After many successful years in the modeling industry, she was ready for longer runways and became a licensed commercial pilot. Always looking for the next challenge, she continued on to become a certified flight instructor and Gulfstream II, GIII & GIV pilot in command.

I really hoped to get an aircraft airborne but when this one started its take off roll I got busy. So instead, here is a pic semi-obscured by snow. Make, model and operator/owner...

I doubt this aircraft sees a lot of snow covered runways.

Spud67,

Dubai Air Wing A320-200

It's probably used to be a different kind of snow tongue.png

Correct! According to another link I found, an Airbus A320-232X CJ to be exact. Not sure if the reference is correct though.

post-170438-0-45329300-1366957089_thumb.

Interesting - Dubai Air Wing has been missed out in the wiki global list of A320 operators... We might never have known if Spud67 had not posted that photo.

Out of interest, where was the photo taken? Interesting shot.

Picture taken at Iqaluit, Canada. Yes, yes it is cold. Thank you very much. 4 more months til Thailand. Good grief dry.png

SVB,

Would not be the first time Wikipedia has missed/omitted/got it wrong...

It is however listed on the Dubai Air Wing wikipedia page...

I have tried to provide only what is available publicly as my job in aviation does not allow for public dissemination. Personally, I think the whole privacy thing is a little over blown but not my call. I checked flightaware.com for the flight plan but it has been blocked. So no details on the flight. Also, in case my bosses are reading, pictures taken from groundside. smile.png

Agree on it not looking like an -800 series with the lack of winglets, however there are a few -800 series birds out there without them..

Snooping around Airliners.net also found this to be true in the case of Shanghai Airlines, as for the paint job, could be the light playing tricks, but that tail is pretty much bang on for Shanghai Airlines...

Tail is fine - its the livery up the side of the fuselage I was thinking of. Have a look at the photos on that wiki page (or a google search by aircraft type for Shanghai). Different between the 767 and the newer 737....
