Where To Get A Certified Translation Of Thia Marriage Certificate

Featured Replies

Hoping someone here can tell me where to get my Thai Marriage Certificate translated into Enbglish in Bangkok. Also would like to know how much it costs and time needed to do so. As I hope to only be in the city for 1 day on my way back to the UK. Where I will use the Translated copy to get a new visa.

I had to have mine translated by a translation service, across Wireless RD from the US Embassy. I waited about 1 hour for the translation. Then it had to be certified by theThai MFA at Chaeng Wattana. The translation was 800 baht and the certification 400 baht, but the certification took 3 days. I understand that you can get same day express service at the MFA for 800 baht.

I recently used an online service called foxtranslate dot com (I'm in the States). I just scanned & emailed the Thai certificate; within 2 days they emailed me the translation plus their certification of accuracy. It cost USD$33. I think it was accepted by U.S. immigration as we just got their reply to our entire package of documents & they didn't mention any problem with the translated marriage certificate.

The MFA is the only one that can truly "certify". All other certifications are not real. All other certifications are simply the person doing the translation certifing themselves. But outside Thailand, they don't know, as long as it looks ok, it's ok.

The tow translation agemcies on the 2nd floor (counting ground as the 1st floor - I added that for Brits who regard the ground floor as Floor 0) of the shopping cntre opposite the British Embassy can usually do them quickly - maybe even while u wait if you pay extra. Normal price was about 500 baht 3 years ago. The British Embassy is at 14 Wireless Road, just round the corner form BTS Ploen Chit. The second floor of the said shopping centre is accessible from the walkway that comes out from Ploen Chit BTS.
