Tell me about it. I had a parcel delivered by Flash or Kerry whatver, COD. 89 baht. Thought the teenager had bought something. Anyway, the landlady (TLL) gets home from work and sees the package. Now. The surname is the same but the first name isn't any of her brothers or sisters. So she goes 200m (next door) to a sisters house, who is ???. No idea. Another sisterm 400m in another dircetion. No idea. The next night having some sukiyaki and few beers I asked the assembled clan - about a dozen brothers, sisters, wives and husbands, "who is ????" Apparently it is the eldest brother's daughters real name. "Good she owes me 89 baht" As you'd know, no one calls people by their birth name. This was one of TLL's own nieces and didn't know. Classic. (Obviously, my parcels are always delivered, using TLL's name and address but with baan farang in brackets under it in Thai script.) I'm the only one and anyoen within a mile knows where I live.
