Banzai99
As so many of the ThaiVisa threads end up in a free for all internet fight, why not make it real, instead of ThaiVisa PissUps, we could have ThaiVisa punch ups sponsered by Carlsberg. Zimmer frames at 20 paces, that type of thing... Beats all this anonymous fighting BS, you gotta problem, ThaiVisa punch up, great day out for all the family and a priceless photo opportunity for a guy like me. What say you ?.......?

theblether
I've always found Thaivisa to be a very civil place full of chaps and chappette's that enjoy the finer things in life. You know, like minded people that enjoy meeting up for a cocktail of an evening and look down on the slovenly beer swilling mongers. Several of our esteemed fellow members "jumped the shark" on the New Expat thread in the Bangkok Forum. They are currently hiding behind their computer monitors scared to post as they know they're gonna get the p*ss ripped right of them. Go check it out......TV Gold. Would you like a cherry with that Sir??
loong
Luckily, most people are able to express their views and engage in healthy debate without resorting to violence. Leave the fisticuffs for the morons that are unable to express themselves.

theblether
Yes, the Rat and Sack........a lovely place. You get the salt of the earth types in there, not like those namby pambies hanging around posing in poncey cocktail bars in Sukhumvit......I can't get this image out of my mind now of a certain contingent of our BKK colleagues...... They used to be called the New Romantics.......now they're known as the New Expats. Spiffing. I much prefer the Rat and Sack regulars, you can fight it out all night then finish it off with a yard of ale and a sing song. Real men you know. NeverSure
-snip- Would you like a cherry with that Sir?? Certainly, thank you. But perhaps you've forgotten what the definition of a cherry is where I come from.
Popular Post loong
-snip- Would you like a cherry with that Sir?? Certainly, thank you. But perhaps you've forgotten what the definition of a cherry is where I come from. Every one knows that a cherry is a small fruit ( and I'm not talking about a mini homosexual) For some reason, women seem to be very proctective of these fruits. Many a time, I've seen a lady drain her coctail and she seems to have no interest in the fruit at all. But if I ask her if I can have her cherry, I usually get a slap around the face. I just don't understand women.

Further to this point..... Early experience in Thailand.... I was siiting at this bar and was approached by this lovely young lady and we started chatting. I was quite surprised as she was obviously much younger than me, so it seemed strange that she would go to a bar where the patrons mostly seemed to be elderly gentlemen. I noted the sign that stated the price of lady drinks, seemed a bit unfair as the price seemed much higher than most of the drinks available to the gentlemen. I realised that this might be to discourage the young ladies from drinking as I realise that women drinking is frowned on in some cultures. So I offered to buy her a drink and she accepted. Soon we were joined by another equally gorgeous young lady and I treated her to a drink as well as they were obviously friends. I was basking in the attention from these delightful creatures, they spoke very good English, but to be honest much of what they said didn't make sense to me at all. Maybe lost in translation or cultural differencies. A gentleman sitting nearby had sensed some of my confusion. I had noted that he seemed to be able to converse with the staff in the local language. He interjected and said something that suggested that the ladies did not have enough money to buy honey. Well, that really didn't help to clear the confusion. If the ladies had no money fro honey, would would they waste their money on going out to bars that charge twice as much for lady's drinks? Not only did the bar charge extra for the drinks, but one of the ladies explained that if she goes upstairs for a smoke, the bar fines her 500 and sometimes 1000 Baht. I'm sure that I understood correctly. Even more odd, I offered her a cigarette and she refused. saying that she never touches them. Maybe she had given up because of the fines from the bar because that would leave her with even less money to buy honey. Apparently these 2 ladies did some sort of performance thing in another bar. They told me that they each had a bald cat, these cats weren't naturally bald, so they had to shave them. The show involved them kissing each other's cat. Again it must be a cultural thing as I just could not appreciate the entertainment value of that. They asked me if I would like to go and see the show. I smiled and said maybe, I didn't wish to appear rude. One of the girls then invited me to go somewhere and play golf, I think. Not sure if I comprehended correctly. She said that she could only go for a short time ( I guess because the ladies had to do their strange cat show later) . I'm certain that she was talking about golf, but because she only had a short time, obviously not time enough for a half course, because she referred to a "3 holer" Apparently a 3 holer game was 2,000 Baht, seems rather expensive to me, imagine how much it would cost to play a full round! Probably why she can only play for a short time. Anyway, the girls had drained their drinks and the glasses were sitting there on the bar. I eyed the small red fruits impaled on the coctail sticks. I thought that these seemed such nice young girls that they couldn't possibly slap me around the face simply for asking if I can have them. They seemed so much more pleasant than the western women. Maybe not so protective of their cocktail fruit. So I asked if I could have their cherries. "You want both our cherries?" with a big smile "Yes please" I said "That will cost you 6,000 Baht" Now i realised that this must be some kind of joke and I laughed " I couldn't possibly pay 6,000 Baht. Both of your cherries can't be worth more than 10 Baht together" Next thing I remember was waking up in hospital. No, I just don't understand females at all
