Free Tot Blocked?

Featured Replies

We have a house on the edge of BK. My step_ daughter lives there and has been using the free TOT ISP for e-mail etc for several months. although it was often difficult to connect to.

We have been here several weeks and I brought my Laptop to use. All was ok until a friend stayed for a couple of days and then after that we could not connect to free TOT either on my laptop or on her computer.

So I bought a 2-months connection via another ISP and have been using that, no problem connecting. This time we are here for three months. But will retire here later this year.

Last week talking to my friend he let it slip that he tried to look at a porn site and then next day he couldn’t connect anymore.

So could TOT have blocked access..I don’t like to ask them. Have asked True about a line (to have a high speed internet connection) but there is some technical problem at present. We go back soon but I want to leave her an internet connection…she would be unable to install anything herself….even if she waved her degree at the computer!!

Does anyone know if TOT would do this..I obviously don’t want any problems when applying for a retirement visa so don’t like to ask..

The TOT free line has been giving sketchy connections for quite some time now. For dial-up, try JI-Net 30 day card. It's unlimited use and you can get them for 280 baht (even though there's a 329 baht printed price on the card). If they used the TOT (2 hour limit) a lot, then the connect fees for JI-Net will actually lower the monthly cost.
