News_Editor
A consignment of humanitarian aid from Iran has reached Burma and will soon be shipped to Arakan State, according to Iranian state-run Mehr News Agency. The shipment, consisting of 24 tons of foodstuffs, tents, blankets and other relief supplies, will be used to assist Rohingya Muslims displaced by a series of outbreaks of communal conflict with ethnic Arakanese Buddhists in the state last year. The aid, which was sent by air to Rangoon, will be distributed by the Iranian Red Crescent Society, as well as by some Iranian parliamentarians and staff from the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
