Time It Takes To Get A Tourist Visa.

Featured Replies

Could someone clarify whether the time it takes to get a tourist visa is the same for all consulates; namely, 1 day. Whenever I've gone to Vientianne, I got the passport back the next day but I was thinking of going somewhere else this time. Unfortunately I will be a little pressed for time and did see on this site somewhere that someone had to wait up to 5 days to get his. I assumed that at Penang, SIngapore, Phnom Penh, Savannakhet, and so on, 1 day was the standard turn around time for a tourist visa. If I am wrong could someone inform me accordingly.

tx

Phnom Penh is 4 days.

The rest are the same as Vientienne. Apply in the morning and pick up next day afternoon.

thanks, why is it so slow in Phnom Penh?

Same day in Penang. Submit at a tour shop in the morning and collect in the evening of the same day. Small fee for this service.

If you have time read all the posts in http://www.thaivisa....-in-the-region/

I have read them over time, and look for new posts every month.....I wish when there was a new post it was in colour or something for 30days, ............ There are a number of places that take 3, 4 and 5 days according to Poster reports.

Edit: also good to read as many places ask for different documents

Anywhere else other than Vientiane and Savannakhet only issue single entry visas. So they are the only choice if you want a double entry visa.

Sorry not according to http://www.thaivisa....-in-the-region/

a few places people state they got double and triple TR Visas no problem in 2012.

Colombo, Bali, Jakarta, Korea, that I can remember off the top of my head in Asia , I am sure there were others

Edit: without going back to read again sure Colombo and Bali were 4 days turn around

I think the discussion was about nearby consulates. Which is what I was writing about.

Some places farther away will issue 3 entry visas with 180 day validity (IE: Bali, Australia)

2 weeks ago talking to an American he said easy in Colombo + very cheap to fly there.[also posted on http://www.thaivisa....-in-the-region/ ..] mostly gets his in Jakarta as he used to work there and stays with friends

Hi

Just to confirm re. Phnom Penh, I went late last year and got a single entry tourist visa.( I did not need nor ask about double entry)

I used a travel agent, handed in passport on a Sunday, received back Thursday with visa.
