I live near the old city in Chiang Mai.

What location do I need to visit to transfer the title of the motorcycle I bought and what are their hours of operation?

I collected up the proper paperwork to transfer the title of my motorcycle but yesterday I found out that the place I thought I needed to go across from the Airport was wrong. The counter agent told me they only do cars at that location and to go to the place near the Holiday Inn. Her English was not good enough to explain exactly where that is. I'm familiar with the Holiday Inn just across the river and I can't remember seeing a place near there that looks like it would do lots of motorcycle and motorbike transfers and inspections.

You need to go to The Land Transport Office on the old Saraphi road at the traffic lights where you would turn right to get to the Holiday Inn. this is the sign to look for:

good ! youve gone over the bridge and your at the lights with

holiday inn on your right

the transfer office entrance is the gate on the right of the blue sign

hanging on the fence directly opposite the traffic lights

but you have to go to the mot test place on the right of this picture

first ... the small white building with a ramp up to it !

then go in the gate next to the blue sign ...across the front

of the building and turn right

give the man in the big inspection bay all your paperwork

and when hes done his bit he will send you to the office

at the back of this pic to get it all sorted

i did it no problem and i dont speak or read thai : (

Why did three different employees ask me if I wanted to transfer the title when I went to Land Transport to pay someone's overdue taxes?

I am glad I read this post.

I had always assumed you go to the DMV place on Handong road where you get your license.

Perfect timing as I plan to sell a scooter soon.
