Start out on the Apple site. Plenty of free tutorials: http://support.apple.com/videos/

thank you Dave, I had managed to work that one out for myself but looking at doing a course, i.e interactive, question and answers, clarification of points etc

Both computers you mentioned use the same operating system, if they are recent purchases. What operating system are you running? 10.7.5 or 10.8? Where do you live? What do you want to know? It's a pretty straight forward OS to use, IMO. Just play around with it. Connect a backup external drive and set it up to run Time Machine. If you mess something up, just go back in time. But I don't know of any courses personally here in Phuket. Woody's Sandwich Shop once in a while has an Apple help session as well as PC here in Phuket. But then again, you haven't even mentioned where you live.

Hi Jimi,

I live in Pattaya and posted it on the Pattaya forum as it is relevant to Pattaya but the mods decided to change it.so sorry for that.

I have recently bought both a mac and a mac air last month, its just understanding the basics, how icloud works, how to use the photo programs etc. I understand what your your saying about time Machine but once again no idea how that would work. Total i-idiot when it comes to Apple. I think I will have to get a book on it and spend time playing, but I would have been easier just to do a crash course with someone who knows what they are talking about rather me stumbling around in the dark Windows is no problem but its a case of having to relearn a new system.

Yeah, playing with it is the way I learned. Time Machine and iCloud are in the system preference, which you'll find by clicking on the Apple at the top left of the screen. I think you'll find the Mac OS is really a bit more straight forward then Windows, but of course with anything new there is a learning curve. A book would probably be a good idea or just Google learning Mac OS. Lots to read there. I found this: http://www.gcflearnfree.org/macosxmountainlion Good luck and have fun!

Cheers Jimi!

No problem!

I noticed there are a few free apps for learning Mac in the Apple Apps store. Click on the App Store icon in the tool bar at the bottom of the screen, then do a search for OSX. There are a few that also charge money.
