Any body got useful info on best, cheapest, fastest flight travel options from Manila, Philippines to Chiang Mai??

No stopovers--short stops, etc..?

Air Asia, Cebu, Tiger--who's best??

Thanks in advance.

I would have thought that the cheapest and most convenient (for me when i have done the reverse) would be CM to KL and then KL to Clark all with Airasia and then make your way down to Manila (lots of options there)

Plus is you avoid Bangkok, plus or minus you go via Clark. Plus you avoid NIAA or Centenial. Minus is LCCT not that nice so would look at minimum stopover. Could also go direct to Manila from KLIA with Phil. Air. or Cebu Pacific Air (last time I looked they had two flights a day to Manila from KL). Cebu are reasonably cheap.

If the person coming is not that confident a traveller I would have thought Clark to KL to CM all with Airasia. Have the one airline and avoid the big airports and some of the scrutiny if PI national potentially working

I went in August CM-BKK-Clark as it was fastest due to best connection times and cheapest and I shared a taxi w/a few ppl. at taxi stand to Manila

Thanks to MamboRobert for the useful info; Ms Dolly--I know I could ask an agent, but since the flight is not for myself, I have no idea of budget, time requirements, etc..and what I have been asked to try to find out is what way do other travelers, on that route, find to be best way--least stops, convenient, cheap, less hassle--all the usual stuff--but thanks for the hint.

Haybilly,

Don't know if it's any help, but...

I'll depart Philippines going to C.M. on Mar 2. Tickets from Clark-BKK cost us USD$177 per pax (PhP7,280) on Cebu Pacific. Don't have a ticket to C.M. yet, but there are many options. Have taken the Clark-BKK route several times. Don't enjoy visiting Angeles City, but we much prefer traveling through Clark than the chaos of Manila airport.
