spacedcowboy
Hi just wondering where do hi-end Japanese tourists gravitate to on Samui. What preferred hotels do they stay at and where do they eat in the evenings. I've got Japanese collegues coming to stay and wanted to create a good impression. Many thanks for any suggestions. Opl
Hello, For the hotel, I would suggest Poppies , on Chaweng beach, http://www.poppiessamui.com/ or even http://tassanapra.com/tassana-pra-villa-koh-samui.html Edited January 16, 2013 by Opl

Tropicalevo
Hotels - Tongsai Bay/Six Senses/The Sala etc (Poppies also a good one - well done Opl.) Japanese friends have always enjoyed Zicos, and any seafood restaurant on the beach. I think that the BBC at Bangrak is also popular. (Definitely a hit with Koreans)

TheLobster
Find them a nice place to stay but please stop them from renting a motorbike! Road sense is not usually a strong point based of the amount that have tried to overtake me when I'm turning right. Not that this is unusual on Samui.
