shaggy1969
, That's breathtaking, Shaggy. The photo really doesn't do it any justice mate. That net was colossal. Just after I had finished taking that photo one of the main struts broke on the boom. The whole thing came crashing down.I wanted to take another photo of it broken but it didn't feel right. Popular Post Ron19
There are many of these crops of corn growing on slopes between Uttaradit and Nan with the majority of them being grown on slopes that any machine could not handle. What I would like to know is how do they do it as I'm certain that any person would have to be on hands and knee's to ascend the steepest slopes.Another thing I noticed was that corn was the only crop grown in this situation.I'm sorry that I could not get a better image to show how steep the slopes were.Next time I go that way I'll have to make a point of stopping to get better shot. Goompa
Hope you were expecting a beautiful photo of a rice field with a gentle flowing stream . Sorry , I cant deliver that , but ..... obscurity ? No problem. I took this shot from the air vent in a farm toilet. , Yes I brought my cam with me to the loo... DAL That is a fantastic break shot , looks like a panorama with bad beginnings and endings , And A farm toilet I can understand both before mentioned . Hey , please enlighten me , sorry no pun intended , looks like upside-down onions.

Oh you guys are being too nice I think there is better pics here from you guys ... but that is good, I admit I cannot remember what camera I was using back then... but the greens seem to come out better than with my present Canon 60D ....perhaps it's the atmospheric conditions? The crop is Garlic.... just about the only thing one sees in the area... makes one wonder about rotating crops? ... In the back of the picture you can see a "farm house"... sadly as I said all washed away that same year... I assume the "hay stacks" must be the leaves from the garlic.... no rice in that area... (what else could it be?) this is another "farm house" different farm, they are spread out over a very large area ... so lots of small holdings i would guess... ? close up... nice and clean... no weeds anywhere! Certainly the rice growers I know in norhtern Songkhla have much better houses!

Popular Post samuijimmy
OK we are back on Samui... I took some friends over to see one of the several Hydroponic growers on Samui.... This grower does a good job .... Butter lettuce.... (this is what I had with my dinner this evening ) Red leaf lettuce... probably has a name but I don't know it Cos lettuce AKA as Romaine Nice roots! Fairly simple green house set up... you just need a good welder for the metal !.... roofing sheets, plastic, piping...pumps, the pots and Styrofoam sheeting ...and the fertilizer formulations of course! At least I think simple, ... but then I have built a few green houses in my time! At least not problem with dealing with snow loads here!
