Since they started to pull off foreign tourists from visa run bus, and the overstay fine will rise to 500 baht a day, can’t we see a sign of something?

I would choose a low profile location and service to do my visarun in the future.

why not go for a visa run a few days before and not overstay, just a wild idea.

Certainly is a good idea to keep a low profile for any illegal activity. :o

As of today a Visa Run, before your visa expires, is not illegal.

Tomorrow, who knows.

I would not read too much into the arrests. The arrestees were illegal.

Nor into the hike in overstay fees. It is simple inflation.

Can't see any problem in a group of people getting together to do a 'visa run' many of us have to do it every 3 months. Remember there were a number of people on the bus who were allowed to carry on to their destination, the only ones "pulled" were on overstay. Visa runs are a fact of life for foreigners, if you keep within the rules you will not have any problems.

VITO what will happen with overstayers in your homecountry ? I think prison and deportation

Respect the law in this country, if not go home !!!

My initial point to create this topic was to help and advice visa runners, never thought some one here would humiliate them.

A solution never comes out from arguments.

Pull the other one, Vito.

Your initial post implied you were referring to overstayers.

Why would visa runners who have not overstayed need to "choose a low profile location and service" for their visa run?

Why worry , it's a perfect legal business.

At least 4 companies advertise in BKK Post and based on my own experience BKK Post only accept Ad's if the companies paperwork is in order.

One even painted his business onto two of his buses.

If they want to crack down they could stopp all buses on the small road to Ban Laem.

In my opinion do not read too much into these two subjects.

One more , to which company VITO might refer?

All leave from the published place at the published time.

Aaarg ... hangover ... go tomorrow ... how dumb ... :o

It's not illegal but visa runs for people who to all intents live in Thailand permanently are flagrantly against the spirit of immigration law. They should be grateful for the Thais' tolerance and forebearance, and be aware that a future government may well crack down.It would not be allowed in their countries of origin but the visarunners have grown so used to the system that they seem to think it's their right, even those who overstay.

Are you forgetting that a lot of the people using visarun-busses are here on a longterm-visa, but are required by law to exit the country every 90days?

Seems to me, visa run firms should check the visas of anyone on their coach and not take anyone who is an overstayer. If they police themselves then they won't be an easy target for police.
